Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) 2026
About the call
As part of CIIIC (Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition), the Creative Industries Fund NL will again launch two application rounds for the subsidy scheme Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) in 2026, following the first application rounds in 2025.
This scheme is aimed at newly forming consortia of creators, producers, institutions, and researchers. The consortia focus on artistic and design research in the development and application of immersive experiences. With this, the consortia will contribute to a strong, innovative, and independent field of immersive experiences.
For whom?
This scheme is aimed at newly forming consortia of creators, producers, cultural and media organizations, and researchers.
Subsidy
The Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences Scheme consists of two application rounds in 2026.
Application Round 2A
A total of €250,000 is available for the first application round. In this round, each consortium can apply for €50,000 in subsidies to set up a two-year activity program. Co-financing is not required. A maximum of five consortia will be selected. The maximum number of applications that will be considered is fifty (the first fifty submitted applications that meet the requirements).
Application Round 2B
Only plans that receive support in the first application round can submit a proposal in the second application round. €6,500,000 is available for the second application round. Each consortium can receive a maximum of €1,300,000 in subsidies for the execution of the activity program for 2027-2028. A co-financing requirement of at least €400,000 applies. The maximum amount that may be allocated from the subsidy to all partners (international and other) combined is €100,000 over the entire two-year activity program.
Changes compared to 2025
The 2026 regulation has been published and includes several changes from last year. The key changes:
- The maximum number of applications in round 2A has been reduced from sixty to fifty.
- The maximum amount of €100,000 for partners now applies to all partners (international and other) combined over the entire two-year program.
- Cultural and media organizations as lead or co-applicant must have experience in at least two of the four functions in round 2A (instead of all four), with the ambition to fulfill all functions in round 2B.
- A university of applied sciences or university can act as co-applicant on behalf of researcher(s) in round 2A.
- It is no longer possible to act as lead applicant in multiple applications within the same round. After a grant in round 2B, you may not act as lead applicant again in the following calendar year.
- Financial reporting requirements have been simplified: annual accounts for one (instead of two) calendar years, and a compilation statement is now also accepted alongside an audit statement.
