CIIIC Learning Communities for IX Talent and Skills Opens in May
Do you want to contribute as a researcher to learning and working around immersive experiences (IX) together with education and practice? In May, CIIIC, together with Regieorgaan SIA, is launching a new funding scheme for the realization of CIIIC Learning Communities.
This scheme brings together innovation, learning, and working so that professionals can further develop their knowledge and skills in the field of IX. The call is expected to open on May 7, 2026, with a submission deadline planned for November 3, 2026.
Enhancing IX Knowledge and Talent
Learning Communities are partnerships between research and education, businesses, and public organizations. Together, they translate relevant knowledge into new learning solutions, which are tested and further improved in practice.
These communities contribute to the growth of IX knowledge and talent. Through practice-oriented research, they provide new insights that stimulate IX innovation.
Themes
The central question in this call is how consortia can develop effective concepts for learning, working, and innovating. All partners work together on new learning and development models around the following research themes:
- Enhancing knowledge and insight about IX among users
- Joint development of IX content into a ready product
- Translating practical questions into IX concepts
- Distribution & infrastructure
- Reuse, further development & scaling
- Public values
Applicants choose a main theme and one application area: art & culture, media & entertainment, or creative business services.
Human Capital
This funding scheme is part of the National Growth Fund Program Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition (CIIIC). The Human Capital line of the program strengthens the talent pool for IX, accelerating and expanding the development of IX. This applies to the entire IX chain, from creators to application areas and everything in between, and for all educational levels.
Who Can Apply?
An application is submitted by a consortium with a research organization as the main applicant and at least three practice partners (SMEs and/or organizations with a public task). The consortium can be supplemented with collaboration partners and co-financiers.
Opening, Duration & Budget
The call is expected to open on May 7, 2026. The maximum duration of projects is 4 years.
Per project, a subsidy of at least € 900,000 and a maximum of € 1,800,000 can be requested. In total, € 10,800,000 is available, which is expected to fund 6 to 12 Learning Communities.
