On 2 February 2026, CIIIC and Regieorgaan SIA are hosting an online information session about the upcoming CIIIC Kern call: Demand-driven practice-oriented research into immersive experiences (IX).

This call focuses on research projects that test and validate methods for applying and deploying immersive experiences. Think of research into how public values can be safeguarded within IX applications, how staff shortages can be tackled with IX, or what conditions are needed for the responsible use of IX within public organisations.

By bringing together consortia of research organisations, SMEs and public organisations, CIIIC Kern drives innovation through co-creation and lays a solid foundation for strategic investment in immersive technologies. The aim is to strengthen the IX field, enable scaling up, and increase both societal and economic impact.

During the information session, together with Regieorgaan SIA we will explain the CIIIC Kern call in more detail, and there will be room to ask questions about the funding scheme. Participants will also have the chance to pitch their ideas live. The call is currently officially in preparation; further details on its content will follow.

The session will take place online via Microsoft Teams. The joining link will be shared on this event page later and will be accessible to everyone who registers.

You can register for the information session via the CIIIC community platform.
