Five Consortiums Begin Two-Year IX Research Programmes for Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences
Five consortiums have been approved to start their two-year artistic and design research programmes for immersive experiences. The Creative Industries Fund NL (Stimuleringsfonds) announced that all five consortiums selected in the first application round submitted successful implementation plans, each receiving up to €1.3 million in funding.
The advisory committee of the Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) 2025 Grant Scheme assessed the implementation plans and found them solid in both content and commercial viability. The five consortiums—Shared Realities, LAUNCHPAD NINE, Futures of Listening, Thuis, and HEFT—will explore different aspects of immersive experiences, from collective storytelling and spatial sound to embodied practices and cultural heritage. The total awarded amount for this round is €6.5 million.
The consortiums will work on developing knowledge, methodologies, and tools for the Dutch IX sector over 2026 and 2027. Each consortium brings together makers, producers, institutions, and researchers, with planned international collaborations. The committee noted the variety in scale, disciplinary composition, and focus areas across the five groups.
