CIIIC present at Venice Immersive

International opportunities for the Dutch IX ecosystem.

From August 27 to September 1, Venice Immersive will once again be an important part of the Venice Film Festival. Heleen Rouw will be present on behalf of CIIIC. Are you or your organization also attending in Venice? Let us know via heleen@ciiic.nl. This way, we can connect on-site, exchange knowledge, and together highlight the Dutch presence in Venice.

Dutch Representation

This year, the Netherlands is strongly represented in Venice Immersive. For instance, The Great Orator by independent VR creator Daniël Ernst will have its world premiere in the competitive section. Ernst is known for blurring the lines between film and gaming and has created a fully human-designed world with this work, where visitors gain insights into memory and meaning through non-linear, AI-generated orations.

Additionally, two other VR productions with Dutch involvement have been selected for the Immersive Competition: A Long Goodbye (Kate Voet & Victor Maes, co-production Valk Productions) and Mirage by the Netherlands-based creators Naima Karim and Aleena Hanif.

The Netherlands is also well represented in the market with the following projects: Lady Lazarus* – dirs. Willemiek Kluijfhout & Nienke Huitenga Broeren, prod. Studio ZZZAP; O* – dir. Adriaan Lokman, prod. Lucid Realities; The Opposite of Being – dir. Celine Daemen, prod. Studio Nergens; Improv Music Collective DNA? AND? – dirs. Corine Meijers and Mark Meeuwenoord, prod. Studio Biarritz
