Five consortia selected for the Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) scheme.
The first round of the Artistic & Design Research for Immersive Experiences (ADRIE) scheme has yielded an impressive response. For the scheme, implemented by the Creative Industries Fund NL on behalf of CIIIC, no less than 26 applications from consortia consisting of creators, producers, institutions, and researchers could be processed. These consortia submitted proposals for developing two-year programs focused on artistic and design research into immersive experiences.
Based on the assessment criteria, the evaluation committee has selected five consortia. Each will receive a maximum of €50,000 for the further development of their program. The large number of quality proposals, including nine positively evaluated applications that unfortunately fell outside the budget, underscores the strength and versatility of the Dutch immersive field.

Strong and engaged community
The submitting consortia have invested energy, commitment, and vision into their plans with many different parties. The diversity and quality of the proposals demonstrate how broad and ambitious the field is, from digital culture to modern dance and from VR to pop music. This joint effort contributes to the growth of a strong and connected community, working together to stimulate and leverage the impact of immersive experiences in the Netherlands and beyond.
Looking ahead
The five selected consortia will soon be invited to submit a follow-up application for round 1B, in which a maximum of €1.3 million is available per consortium for the implementation of their program. For other applicants, the first round of 2026 offers new opportunities. Additionally, there are possibilities within other components of the CIIIC program to further advance projects.
We warmly invite all consortia and creators, including those not selected in this round, to engage in conversation with us. Together, we will explore how we can utilize the ideas, energy, and ambitions that have now been introduced within future editions of the ADRIE scheme and in the broader activities of CIIIC.
Building further together
The first round of ADRIE shows that there is a solid foundation for the further development of the Dutch IX field. With the support of the community, involved institutions, and creative professionals, we will take the next steps together in the coming years towards a strong, innovative, and socially relevant immersive sector.
